Look on things above

 

"Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth" - Colossians 3:2

 

Hi kids, how are you all? Do you like receiving from others? Do you like giving to others? I hear you say that it is to receive. It is very dear to God that we seek the happiness of others. Shall we hear the true story of how a man built a city by his sacrifice?

 

Sawyer, a Portuguese merchant, was trading in India in the 1800s. Because he knew Jesus Christ, he told everyone who sees him about the love of Jesus. He used to help those who were suffering as much as he could. Something unprecedented happened in 1810.Do you think what it is. They did many things such as pushing away those who accepted Jesus from the town and persecuting them. Because of this some people rejected Jesus. Some others moved elsewhere. Even today there are people who suffer like this. Children! You must not forget to pray for such people.

 

Seeing this state, Sawyer bought a 150-acre plot of land with his own money and made the converts to live there. This made the people happy and secure. He spent all the money for those saved by Christ. He prayed with tears for the suffering people. He gave the place as his own for the people who settled in the area. Hence it came to be known as Sairapuram. A village was formed by his sacrifice.

 

Little kids! This Sawyer Uncle is very super. Sawyer Uncle gave his money to Jesus and lived as a blessing to many people among the people who are living selfishly that I will not give what I have to anyone. Give to others and seek more and live as a blessing to many.
