Humility
"…And what does the LORD require of you..., And to walk humbly with your God?” - Micah 6:8
Shamli Jo is a sister who served as a missionary in Cambodia. She was a well-educated and skilled physiotherapists. Despite coming from a wealthy family, she set up a hut in Cambodia and started her medical career from there. She also ministered to the war veterans who had lost their arms and legs in the war and preached the gospel. In an emergency, Shamli was asked to clean and bandage the wounds of the veterans. She never said that I am a physiotherapist, but willingly and humbly did that, was not afraid of superiors too. Yes, humility is what God expects from us or what God will for his people! Humility is not being humble out of fear of others or to please others, but being truly humble from the heart!
Jesus Christ lived in such a humble manner. He born after renouncing the heavenly life for the plan of salvation of mankind. All the days he lived on earth he lived as a complete man. He lived a very simple life, loved and endured difficult situations. In the end he was humiliated on the cross, spit on and scourged, left alone and hung on the cross to die. He accepted everything. We should humble ourselves to this extent. Because we are made from mud (earth). But most of the times we forget the place where it was created and exalt. God reminds us that we are dust. When we think like that, there will be no opportunity to be proud. God is not the one who leaves us alone when we humble ourselves. He gives us grace. He looks to the humble.
Beloved who reads this, when he who came from heaven humbled himself so much, how much we who are made of dust must humble ourselves. Let's ask God for forgiveness for the places that have exalted us. From now on, let us be true and humble everywhere, and let us receive blessings from God.
