It's time to give thanks

 

"One of them, when he saw that he was healed,... gave him thanks;…" - Luke 17:15,16

 

In this passage, ten lepers who were shunned by society call out to Jesus with a loud voice. (Matt. 8:2-4) In Matthew 8:2-4, He healed a leper by touching him with His hand. But here He healed them with His word and said, "Go and show yourselves to the priest." Those who believed in the word of the Lord were healed. Only one of them, seeing that he was healed, prayed to Him with all his heart and gave thanks. He received the praise of God and went away with faith and salvation. Today, leprosy has been completely destroyed. But in today's society, many great troubles such as murder, robbery, rape, adultery, accidents, drinking and drug habits, diseases, economic crisis, and deceitful deeds afflict people and make them sad. But how great is the grace of the Lord who protects us, the children of God, like the apple of his eye, every day and keeps us from being destroyed. (Lamentations 3:23).

 

We owe it to God, the God of heaven, to show us the last month of 2024. "His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness," (2 Peter 1: 3). Let us thank God for guiding us in a wonderful way by providing us with the money, food, clothing, shelter, and all the protection we need for our lives at the right time in all the past months.

 

God has given us many blessings. Even if it is not always as we expect, He has been supporting, carrying, and guiding us in all situations. Therefore, let us always live with a grateful heart for everything. Emmanuel, who has led us so far, will be with us as Ebenezer, who will continue to lead us. My beloved ones! May God grant us the grace to enter the New Year with true joy and peace! Amen.
