No Need for a Narrow Circle

 

"...the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it" – Isaiah 46:11

 

A little girl was enjoying the golden fish she was raising. It had been a long time since she cleaned the fish tank. So, deciding that she could clean it, the little girl left the two fish in a large water tank. Then she went to wash the fish tank. After washing the fish tank, she went back to the large tank to get the fish. Although the fish are now in a large tank, they used to move around in a small area like the small fish used to move around in that tank.

 

We too often draw a narrow circle for ourselves and live within it. We decide for ourselves what we can do, that's all I can do. But God's plan for us is bigger. He does not think as we think. He has drawn a big circle about us. But what we see now is only a small part of that circle. But He sees the whole circle.

 

In the Bible, the Lord called Gideon, who was afraid, retreating and struggling because of the Midianites, and gave him a great task. He gave a large group of Midianites into Gideon's hands. He looked at Abram, who had no child to name, and called him Abraham, which means father of nations. He blessed him by showing him a big circle that all the families of the earth will be blessed in you. Yes, it happened according to the word of the Lord. Similarly, the plans that the Lord has for us are big. Enough of the days when we said I can't do it. Enough of living with a small circle around us. Let us dedicate ourselves to the big circle that God has planned for us. Let us live as the way He wants and do what we can for the Lord. The Lord is coming soon. Amen. Hallelujah!
