Give What You Have

 

"for God loveth a cheerful giver" - 2 Corinthians 9:7

 

My dear children! Aren't your holidays so much fun? No school, no homework, and you don't even have to get up in the morning and study. How cute! There is VBS to make the most of your holidays. There once was a little boy named Roger who loved playing with spinning tops (Bambaram) and marbles. He always had them in his pockets and played with them all the time. One day, he was playing and made his way to church. At the church, the pastor announced they were collecting offerings to build a new church building. Everyone gave their offerings, some put money in the offering bag, others wrote checks, and some used G-Pay. Roger also wanted to give something. But when he checked his pockets, he had no money — only his spinning tops and marbles. Without hesitation, he dropped them into the offering bag. When the offerings were being counted, people were surprised to find a spinning top and marbles. Some even laughed and criticized, wondering what use such things could be. But the pastor noticed it all. Deeply moved by the little boy’s heart, he added ₹10,000 from his own pocket in place of the spinning top and marbles. When the foundation stone was laid for the church, the pastor placed the spinning top and marbles beside it as a reminder of Roger’s pure-hearted gift.

 

In a few years, Oxford University Church was beautifully completed. The pastor was surprised to see that the man who had studied well and reached a high position after many years was the same little boy who once had offered his spinning top and marbles in his childhood. It may have seemed insignificant to others. Roger gave what he had, studied at Oxford University and reached a high position. The Lord did not forget what he had given and blessed him.

 

Dear little ones, think about how we give to Jesus, who helps us in everything. Just as Roger, who had no money, gave what he had, you too should give your time, talent, and your heart to Jesus and make Him happy.
