Do Not Touch

 

"…for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye" - Zechariah 2:8

 

The Lord is very concerned about us. If we are walking with the Lord, no power of the enemy can touch us. We are always under the protection of heaven as children who are washed by the blood of Jesus Christ and truly walk with God. And we are in the embrace of the Lord, with the protection of the holy angels.

 

The Lord warns a king who wants to touch Sarah, Abraham's wife. "I will not let you touch her," he said (Gen. 20:6). Similarly, the Lord warns Laban who wanted to harm Jacob. “It is in the power of my hand to do you hurt: but the God of your father spake unto me yesternight, saying, Take thou heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad'" (Gen. 31:29) Laban tells Jacob. In the book of Ruth, Boaz does not let anyone touch Ruth, even though she is a foreigner and a poor woman who has come to glean in his field. “I have already charged the young men that no one should touch you” (Ruth 2:9). One English translation reads, “I have already charged the young men that no one should touch you.”

 

As God’s children, we are all in His hands. The Lord loves us so much. That is why John 3:16 says that He so loved us that He gave His only begotten Son for us, “It is not His will that any of us should perish, but that we should all have eternal life with Him in the kingdom of heaven.” “Touch not my anointed, and do my prophets no harm,” he said. (Psalm 105:15). We also belong to the Lord Jesus. Therefore, He has commanded that no one should touch us. God is powerful to make sure that no weapon formed against us will prosper. He will protect us like the apple of his eye and hide us in His hands. Therefore, do not be anxious about anything. Why should we worry in vain when God is our protector?
