Our Duty

 

“…I am persuaded that in thee also” - 2 Tim. 1:5

 

A teacher conducted a test at the end of the lesson to encourage her students. She also announced that the winner would be given a new pair of shoes. All the students took the test with great anticipation. When the teacher finally corrected their answer sheets, they all had written the correct answers. The teacher wondered whom to give the prize, so she asked all the students to write their names on a piece of paper and roll it up and put it in a box. As soon as everyone had written it, the teacher shook the box and took out a piece of paper. It contained the name of a student named 'Wafa'. The prize was immediately given to the student.

 

Wafa was the poorest student in the class, and for many months she had been wearing torn and worn-out shoes. That day, when she received the new pair, her joy knew no bounds. Later, the teacher happily returned home and tearfully told her husband about what had happened in the classroom that day. The husband was also happy. However, tears continued to flow from her eyes. When her husband asked her why, she said, "I looked through all the papers in the box where the names were written in it, and all the students had not written their names, but the name of 'Wafa', who was a poor student in the class."

 

In the Bible, we know about Timothy. We talk about him even today, the reason why he grew strong in ministry was because of his grandmother Lois and mother Eunice. Their faith made Timothy a great servant. He was a help to the apostle Paul in every way. He was raised as a selfless child.

 

Dear Friends! Raising children in today’s world is a very difficult task. Especially for Christian parents, raising their children in a spiritual life is a challenge. Still, it is our duty to teach our children from a young age to care for others and to share with those in need. Our responsibility is to raise children who are thoughtful, caring, and willing to help others.
