Refining

 

“Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried;…” - Daniel 12:10

 

There are two ways in which the Lord refines His children. One is that the Lord will allow some fiery trials in our lives to purify them from some of their spiritual shortcomings. The other is God allows us to be tested so that others may see how firmly we stand in our faith. For example, to prove that an object is fire-resistant, it must go through the fire and come out unharmed. In the same way, when our faith is tested, we come out like gold.

 

The above verse says that many shall be purified, made white, and refined. Sometimes God allows such refinements in our lives to show others that the spiritual qualities that are created in us, such as humility, patience, and love, can always be manifested in us, no matter what the circumstances.

 

Look at Job, no matter how many problems came, he gave thanks to the Lord without cursing the Lord with his mouth. When it is said in Philippians 2.8 that the Lord Jesus Christ humbled himself, it does not mean that he was not humble before that. It is written so that we can understand that he was patient and humble in the midst of the trials that came to him and in the midst of great suffering. After various refinements, his name was exalted in heaven and on earth and under the earth so that every knee should bow at the name of Jesus. Do not worry, is it always refinement? There is a glorious resurrection after the cross. Yes, we will inherit all the blessings that we have lost. "I will bring upon them all the good that I have promised them," declares the Lord. (Jeremiah 32:42)
