The Secret of the Tomb

 

“...I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live” - John 11:25

 

Dear Kids, isn't it beautiful to watch the sunrise, early in the morning on the first day of the week? Do you know what day it is today? Yes it’s Easter the day we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus! Okay, Lets we see what happened on that day.

 

Mary and her friends walked along, talking on the way. They wondered, "Who will roll away the stone for us? The stone is so huge! What should we do?" Driven by their deep desire to see Jesus’ body and to anoint it with spices, they didn't even notice how far they had walked. When they finally spotted the tomb, they were filled with joy. Everyone looked on in amazement. "Mary, look here! The tomb is open!" they exclaimed. Mary went inside the tomb, but when she couldn't find Jesus, she began to cry.

 

Now, kids if you saw a tomb, what would you think? You’d probably think, "I shouldn't go anywhere near that!" Right? Usually, all tombs are closed. But did you notice? Only Jesus’ tomb was open! Alright, shall we see what Mary did next?

 

Someone spoke to Mary and her friends who were still weeping saying, "Do not be afraid." When they turned around to see who it was, they saw a bright and radiant Angel, tall, and shining like lightning, truly a beautiful sight! They were so amazed by the vision that they stood frozen in place, like dolls! Do you wish you could see what an angel looks like, too? You can see them when you go to Heaven!

 

Do you know what the angel said next? "Jesus is not here. He has risen, just as He said He would! Go and share this message with His disciples." Filled with both fear and excitement, they left the tomb. As they were walking along the way, Jesus met them and greeted them. There was no limit to the joy that Mary and her friends experienced. After His resurrection, Jesus appeared first to Mary, who had come seeking Him. Even today, He is right beside everyone who sincerely seeks Him.

 

Dear Kids, do you know the secret of the tomb? Jesus has risen! He is alive even today. He is the One who lives for all eternity. So, my dear little kids, do not forget to seek Jesus every morning! Happy Easter.
