The New Academic Year
“But my faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him: and in my name shall his horn be exalted” - Psalm 89:24
In the world we live today, there is confusion, immense pressure, and numerous distractions. Nevertheless, the Lord calls His children to shine for Him, to stand rooted in faith, and to act with both wisdom and courage.
God can use our children in this world for the glory of His name. As they face challenges, examinations, peer pressure, and uncertain circumstances, God will grant them the strength to stand firm. They are chosen, anointed, and set apart to walk according to the Lord's plan. When we first hold within ourselves the conviction that they are called to inherit the Lord's promises, we are enabled to pray for them and guide them along God-honouring paths.
They are within the Lord's plan. Therefore, their hope should not be derived from their academic grades, popularity, or achievements. Rather, let their hope rest solely upon the unwavering faithfulness of the Lord, the One who claims them as His own, declaring, "You are Mine."
In the Bible, Apollos is introduced as a well-educated and knowledgeable man. He was also a gifted speaker. Yet, he remained humble and eager to learn even more. Like Apollos, may our children excel in their studies, while simultaneously growing in their knowledge of God's Word. For it is the Word that teaches true humility and a servant-hearted attitude.
May the purpose for which God brought them into this world be fully realized in their choices and aspirations. May they shine brightly as students who radiate the light of Jesus Christ. For He calls us not merely to be knowledgeable, but to be salt and light, reflecting His very image to the world. True education is not only about gaining information and knowledge. It is also about allowing the mind and character of Jesus Christ to shape our thoughts and actions so that we can shine God's light in a dark world. When we live in this way, we can bring great positive change to society, just as Jesus did. The student phase of life is a treasure bestowed upon us by the Lord. May the Kingdom of God be glorified through every aspect of this season, through our studies, our talents, and our strength. Amen.
