Wisdom Is Most Important

 

“For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding” - Proverbs 2:6

 

Hello, kids! Our warmest wishes to all of you who have stepped into a new academic year and advanced to the next grade. You have returned to school after a long break. You must obey your teachers and, like good children, start focusing on your studies right from this very moment. Okay, kids?

 

In the Bible, the Lord once spoke to a man in a dream and said, "Ask Me for whatever you desire." If the Lord were to ask you that question, what would your answer be? Think about it. I will ask you again once the story is finished. Do you know who that man was and what he asked for? Let me tell you.

 

After King David, Solomon became the King of the people of Israel. Solomon was still young and did not know much about governing people or running a kingdom. As he took on this great responsibility, he wondered how he could rule the nation?" One night, the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Ask Me for whatever you desire.” Do you know what King Solomon asked for? He prayed, “Please give me a wise heart to judge and lead these countless people.” That request was pleasing in the sight of the Lord. Consequently, He granted him not only the wisdom he had requested but also riches and glory that he had not asked for. Many kings and queens, having heard of his wisdom, came to visit him and were left utterly astonished. The Lord declared that no one like King Solomon had ever been born before, nor would anyone like him ever be born in the future. The people, witnessing his reign and the justice he administered, marvelled at him and offered their praise. It is said that during the days of King Solomon, the entire nation enjoyed forty years of peace.

 

Isn't that just wonderful? Kids, you too must ask Jesus for wisdom and receive it. You shouldn't say things like, "English is too difficult for me," "I don't like Maths," or "I'm not good at Science." Wisdom is extremely important. If you ask Jesus, He can give you wisdom. Are you kids ready to ask Him for wisdom?
