The Blessing of Joy

 

“Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart” - Psalm 37:4

 

Be joyful. Be cheerful. Keep praising the Lord. Then the Lord will fulfill all your prayers and bless you.

 

A small child will cry at anything to get its mother's attention. But if the child grows up and keeps crying after knowing the details, the parents will only get angry. Similarly, it is normal for us to shed tears because of some things. If we repent for our sins and pray to the Lord with tears, He is able to forgive us all our sins and save us. But the children of God who have grown up in the spiritual life will praise and give thanks to the Lord and make their requests known to Him and receive all benefits.

 

In 1 Samuel 1, Elkanah's wife Anna wept for years because she was childless. But one day Anna went to the Lord's temple, was saddened, cried a lot and prayed to the Lord, and made a promise that if you give your servant a male child, I will dedicate him to the Lord all the days of his life. She poured out her heart before the Lord. Then she was no longer sad. In time, God answered her prayer and gave her a son, Samuel, the child she had promised to dedicate to Him.

 

Dear Friends! Similarly, we should convey all our burdens, worries, longings and sighs to the Lord. When we wait on the God of salvation with faith, God will hear us. When we praise the Lord, songs of salvation and victory fill our lives. The right hand of the Lord is mighty. He, the companion, will keep us from wavering and giving up. Hallelujah.
