Stand Upright for Christ 

 

“…the path of the just is like the shining sun, that shines ever brighter unto the perfect day.” - Proverbs 4:18

 

Hai, children, we all like to go on trips to different places, don’t we? Yes. But it will be more delightful, if our visit is to our grandma’s or uncle’s place. 

 

A smart boy named Deepak went to his uncle’s house to spend his holidays. He had a great time with his little nephew. His uncle took him to the park, shops and some other places. His joy knew no bounds. One day Deepak’s uncle asked him, “Do you read the Bible and pray to God and live as a God’s child?” Deepak replied saying that he would like to enjoy in his young age with his friends and in his later days he would walk in the ways of the Lord. There was no comment from his uncle.

 

One evening Deepak was returning home with his uncle in a car. Two roads diverged near his town. One road led to his town and the other one to the lovely woods. Deepak’s uncle drove his car along the road that led into the woods. Deepak reminded his uncle that he had taken a wrong turn that would end up in the woods. His uncle said, “I know very well about the woods. So, I like to spend some time in the lovely woods and enjoy the beauty.” It was getting dark after the sunset. Deepak was overcome by fear. He asked his uncle to quit the place as he was scared to be there. But his uncle insisted that they had to quit only after seeing atleast any one of the ferocious animals. 

 

Deepak remembered an incident occurred recently. He explained to his uncle how a leopard pounced from behind a tree and killed a man. But his uncle was not worried. Deepak again warned him saying that an elephant would overturn the car. 

 

At once Deepak’s uncle said to him, “you told me that you will walk in the ways of the Lord after enjoying all worldly pleasures. Before you come back from your prodigal life, your soul will be destroyed. So will you be the child of God from today?” Deepak apologized for his mistake.

 

Dear children, I know you all walk in the ways that are pleasing to Jesus Christ. Thank you. Holy life is a Jolly life.
