A faithful man

 

“A faithful man will abound with blessings.” – Proverbs 28:20 

 

Beloved in Christ, we have been called to be faithful to Christ, to the family given by God and in the responsibilities, we are entrusted with. For example, Abraham was faithful to God and inherited all the blessings. 

 

Similarly, Moses had a blameless testimony before God. God says, “He is faithful in all my house.” Let us see how he remained faithful in different matters. 

 

At first Moses was faithful in his family. When Moses was chosen and called by God to rescue Israelites from bondage, he asked his father-in-law to let him go to Egypt and with his permission he went there in peace (Exodus4:18). He was loyal to his spouse and children. In the modern age, faithfulness lacks in families namely between husband and wife and between parents and children. If we desire to receive perfect blessings from God, we need to be faithful.

 

Secondly, Moses stayed faithful at work. His commitment to his calling and loyalty to the task assigned to him lasted till the end and he was able to maintain his testimony. He pleaded with God many a time for the Israelites and at last he asked God to blot him of out His Book of life which He had written. Yes, let us be faithful to God in all our work irrespective of their nature. It may be an unexpected and unpreferred task. But that task was assigned to us by God. So let us be faithful in our work.

 

Beloved, considering Moses to be faithful, God assigned a noble task to him and Moses accomplished it. How is our life? Are we faithful in the little things we are entrusted with? Let us ponder. The one who faithfully manages the little things will be promoted and trusted with greater responsibilities. Let us maintain a blameless testimony before God and man till the end.
