Rich man 

 

“…for Your law is my delight.” – Psalms 119:77 

 

Steve Jobs is widely recognized as a pioneer of the personal computer revolution. He was the inventor of iPhone. He had left behind a legacy that changed the computer and wireless industry. He was the co-founder of Apple.inc. It was an ordinary company when founded. Then it has become an American multinational technology company. He became one of the richest business magnets. He was a billionaire but died of cancer after battling for seven years. In his death bed he said that all the recognition and wealth that he took pride in, had paled and become meaningless. His advice was “Do not waste your life seeking fame and wealth. Treat yourself well and cherish others.” 

 

King Solomon became great and led a very luxurious life. He sought after things such as wealth recognition, wisdom, royal food, property and other assets and enjoyed worldly pleasures and what ever his eyes desired until he got satiated. Having indulged in all worldly pleasures he stated, Vanity of vanities all is vanity! At last, he discovered where true happiness lay. He says it is a gift of God if we are able to rejoice in our labor in which we had toiled. 

 

Beloved, the above cited examples of Steve Jobs and Solomon assert that they excelled more than all in wisdom, fame and money but they did not have inner joy from worldly materials. The Bible describes the frailty and transitory nature of human life in the following verse, “They spring up like flowers and wither away; like fleeting shadows, they do not ensure.” But we can have insatiable joy and indelible delight when we spend time in God’s presence on reading the Bible and walking in His ways. Let us all try and experience the everlasting joy in our hearts.
