Daily Devotion (English) – 01.12.2021

 

In and out 

 

“That was the true light which gives light to everyman coming into the world.” – John1:9 

 

I was born and brought up in a non-Christian background. Only one or two Christian families lived in our area. I used to get fascinated by the colourful star hung, decorative led serial lights and pretty Christmas tree displayed during Christmas season. I still remember a family from Kerala who used to invite me and my friends to their home during Christmas season. They would sing hymns, pray and give us sweet snacks. Although it occurred in my childhood days, I used to take delight in recollecting and reliving those days. I craved in my heart to hang a star in my house at least in future but I knew that it was impossible for a non-Christian. 

 

Years passed by. The Lord Jesus Christ who fulfills the desire of our hearts, granted me my wish. The true light which gives light to everyman coming into the world shone in my heart. We read that “there shall come a star out of Jacob.” I was away from the Star once. Now I am in Jesus, the star. Jesus was merciful to rescue me from the darkness of sin and to establish me in His glorious light. Thus, it is Christmas for me every day now.

 

Beloved readers, Jesus loves every one of us. He wants every one to be happy irrespective of caste, creed and religion. When the good news of the birth of Jesus was foretold, the angel from heaven proclaimed “Behold I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.” If Jesus the light of joy dwells in our hearts, our lives will be illuminated with light and joy. During this Christmas season, you have been called by Jesus through this message. Come unto Jesus. Don’t keep away from the true light, if you are in the light each day is a Christmas day. Come, let us celebrate!
