If we walk with Jesus

 

“…Jesus came into the world to save sinners…” – 1Timothy 1:15

 

Now we are in the month of December. We are all anxiously awaiting Christmas, aren’t we? Yes. We do like to celebrate Christmas with new clothes, sweets, stars, serial lights and x-mas’ trees. But Jesus will be delighted only when we do what is pleasing to Him. Today let us know how uncle Jerome thought about the manger scene. 

 

Who is uncle Jerome? He was the one who had translated the Bible into Latin. When his translation was in progress, it dawned on him to ponder the manager scene for a long time. He could visualize Jesus’ walking with him. Jerome rejoiced with exceedingly great joy at the divine vision. Have you ever felt the presence of God with you? Yes, very good. Jerome spoke to Jesus asking, “Tell me what would give you the most joy on your birthday and you shall have it.” 

 

Jesus said, “The highest heavens, the earth and all that is in it belong to me. So, I do not want anything.” But Jerome pleaded with Jesus not to reject but to accept something from him as he loves Him most. But Jesus said, “If you love me with whole heart, give me your sins. You give away your evil thoughts and abominable sins. I shall bear them on the cross and I shall shed my blood and die for you.” He felt heartbroken at the word of Jesus. He blubbered like a child. He understood what was expected of him from Jesus. He burst into tears. Being forgiven by Jesus, he was overwhelmed with great joy in his heart. Thus, his vision came to an end.

 

Beloved kids, would you like to talk to Jesus, the King? Try to converse with Him through your prayers. He desires more to be born in our hearts than to see our celebration of His birthday. We must offer our stained heart to Him. Then only our celebration will be true, meaningful and worthwhile. Shall we get ready to celebrate Christmas with exceedingly great joy?
