Let us Judge Ourselves

 

“…for if we would judge ourselves…we may not be condemned…” -1 Corinthians 11:31

 

God has given us a wonderful life. But how many times have we murmured in our life? How many times have we shown our discontent without knowing the value of our life? Each day we are given 86,400 seconds in our hands. How many seconds have we got in a year? (86400x360). If the seconds were the amount of money given to us, we would have the balance amount with us. But un-availed time will not be available and we cannot climb it. So, time is more precious. How have we utilized 86400 seconds given to us each day? 

 

There are 8760 hours in a year. Out of this, 2920 hours are set apart for working and 2920 hours are meant for sleeping and we have 2920 hours left. Our lord is the God of great wisdom. How wisely He has divided it equally. The remaining hours are for us to get prepared for eternal life. How did we spend that extra time? Let us ponder.

 

The Bible says,” If we would judge ourselves, we may not be condemned”. When we judge ourselves in the light of the word of God, we will get an understanding heart. Being the disciples of Christ how have we manifested ourselves in the matters regarding Bible reading, prayer, and our relationship with our family members and the others? Have we enhanced the fellowship we enjoy in Christ? Have we spent quality time with God? If not, we have misused the time. Let us confess and ask for forgiveness with a contrite heart. God will empower us through the Holy Spirit to grow in Christ in every detail of our life. Let us take a resolution to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ each day.
