Daily Devotion (English) – 02.01.2022 (Kids Special)

 

You are a chocolate

 

“Look at the birds of the air…Are you not of more value than they?” - Matthew 6:26 

 

Hello! Cute little kids! I rejoice to meet you all in the new year. Last year we were preserved from all evil and kept as the apple of the eye. Many people had passed away last year. But Jesus has spared us and kept us alive. There are over a thousand reasons to thank God. So, we have to give thanks to God with a grateful heart. In the new year, God will lead us in a wonderful way if we submit ourselves to God and stay under His mighty hand asking Him to do His will in our lives. 

 

Benita and Jenita were sisters. These two little girls were brought up in Delhi. Their complexion was dark. A lovely park was near their house. Have you been to a park? Yes. You would have played on the slide, swing and see-saw. Likewise, Benita and Jenita were playing in the park. Some other children in the park mocked at them and teased them saying “black crows”. The little girls felt miserable. Those children were from North India and so they were very fair. Benita and Jenita got worried and said why God had created them with dark skin. They thought the other children would not make fun of them if they were fair. They returned home with droopy heads. Their mother inquired and found out the reason for their anguish. Their mother cheered them up saying, “They called you names by mistake. You both are not crows but sweet and tasty chocolates.” On hearing their mother’s word, their faces were brightened to a radiant smile. She continued saying, “The Lord our God has created us in His own image. We must feel proud and happy about it and begin to love ourselves. God’s desire for us is to love Him and ourselves.” The two kids jumped for joy. They understood that they were liked by all and they are loved more by Jesus as they are very special in His sight. There was a great change in their mindset after this. 

 

Dear kids, we should never be discouraged if we are dark-skinned or unfair or unattractive and poor. We are special to Jesus. You are chocolates! Be of good cheer!
