New thing

 

“Behold, I will do a new thing, now if shall spring forth.” – Isaiah 43:19

 

This is a true-life story of the couple Joseph and Christy Padma that happened 70 years ago. Christy Padma had been barren for 12 years. The doctors confirmed her inability to conceive. One day Joseph’s sister sent Ebenezer, a woman doing ministry to her brother’s house. Ebenezer laid hands on the head of Joseph and Christy and prayed earnestly. Then she prophetically stated that she would be the mother of a baby girl in a period of 10 months. Christy Padma was born and brought up in a non-Christian family but she had accepted Jesus as her savior in her later years. But she believed that Jesus would bless her with a baby. But Joseph who was a born Christian could not believe the prophecy. He remarked sarcastically saying, “The doctor said that there was no chance for a baby. Just because this lady laid hands on our heads and prayed can we get a baby? Moreover, she assures that we shall have a baby girl in ten months. Let me note down the date and let us wait and see.” If God has spoken, it shall come to pass; He will do it; He will not go back. Christy got pregnant and she gave birth to a baby girl in the tenth month. She brought her up in faith. In the later years of her life, she submitted herself to God and did ministry and served God with zeal.   

 

We may have shortage and requirements. We may be sick or in debt. We may be looking for a job or marriage alliance for our children. Do not worry or grow weary. Let us rely only on God. Let us praise Him gratefully and whole heartedly. We need not murmur about our needs. Praise him for all the goodness He has done to us so far and for the other blessings we are going to receive. 

 

He is the Lord of Lords who will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. God took David from the sheepfold, from following the sheep to be the King over Israel. Orphaned girl Esther was crowned as the queen of 127 countries in an astonishing manner. Ruth an alien in Israel was selected to be a direct ancestor of Jesus Christ. The Lord our God who exalted them will surely honor us. He will do a new thing in everyone’s life and bless us in an amazing way.
