Cock-a –doodle-doc

“…you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you…” – Romans 8:9

I am also one of the birds kept alive on the face of the earth when the flood water came on the earth. We entered the ark and were safe with Noah. We are preserved to crow and praise our creator, to announce the day break and to wake you up in the early morning. You find me mentioned in Mark 13:35. It is written that the coming of the Lord may be at cock crowing. And then, you know that Peter denied Jesus three times before I crowed. Many of us are reared for flesh alone. But some roosters like me are bred and trained for cockfight.

I would like to share an amusing episode. Once, a cock fight was going on between two roosters. One of the cocks got badly injured. It could no longer fight. So, one who reared it for years did not want to cook it for his meals? He gave it to his neighbor. He prepared a delicious chicken dish and invited his friends for the feast. Having finished their lunch, they began their friendly chat. But unfortunately, it led to verbal argument and ended up in violent fight. They behaved as if they were enemies and chased one another widely.  As they had eaten the meat of a fighting cock, they reflected the trait of a fighting cock. There is a saying, “Tell your friend and I will tell you who you are.” It’s quite true that when you spend a lot of time every day with a particular person that person’s character and traits influence you subconsciously and his way of life will be manifested in your life in the long run.  Similarly, if we maintain close fellowship with God, we shall be filled with the spirit of love and we shall imitate Jesus and bear His marks.  There shall be no place for wrath, enmity and fret.

We awake at dawn to praise God and urge you to get up for praising God Almighty. How beautiful it would be if you worship and praise and give thanks to God together as families at day break. That will make your day a joyful one and you will not be ruled by carnal mind but reined by the goodness of God.
