Daily Devotion (English) – 22.02.2022 (God’s creation’s special)

Deliverance

“…who executes justice for the oppressed …the Lord gives freedom to the prisoners.” – Psalms 146:7 

I think I am known to everyone in the world. Sometimes my name is used to abuse others. I am happy that hardworking people are compared with me. In the Bible I am portrayed as symbols of peace, service, suffering and humility. I was tied to a post outside a certain house in a village. I longed for freedom. I had no ray of hope for my release. 

At this juncture, I heard about Christ Jesus. They said, “Jesus goes about doing good; He delivers all from sins and curses and sicknesses. He is so compassionate to the people and He performs miracles; He raises the dead and so on.” 

In my heart of hearts, I craved to meet Him and get some help for my deliverance. But how could I go anywhere when I was bound? What a surprise! Jesus was thinking about me and remembered me and sent two of His disciples to take me to Him. Jesus had said, “Go into the village opposite you and immediately you will find a donkey died and a colt with her. Loose them and bring them to Me. If anyone says anything to you, you shall say the Lord has need of them and immediately he will send them.” My joy knew no bounds on hearing this wonderful news. 

I thought I would be useful only to carry heavy loads in future and that would be the end of me. So far no one had taken notice of me as I was insignificant. But I leaped for joy when I knew that I was chosen to carry Christ Jesus who bore all the sins of every human being in this world. I suddenly became the talk of everyone. I am so delighted that I who was unworthy of any regard is considered so high as Jesus rode on me and entered Jerusalem triumphantly. 

Beloved children of God, you may be entangled with the yoke of bondage in some matters such as sin, debt or disease. You need not fear or lose heart. You just stay where you are and seek Jesus for help. He shall look for you and liberate you and bless you with a joyful life.
