Daily Devotion (English) – 23.02.2022 (God’s creation’s special)

Sweet smelling aroma 

“…brethren to dwell together in unity…is like the precious oil upon the head, running down on the beard of Aaron, running down on the edge of his garments.” – Psalms 133

God’s children from different status, brushing aside their wealth, title and rank, disregarding their competency, getting together at one place with one accord is compared with me, the precious anointing oil with sweet smelling aroma. I am compounded of quality spices such as liquid myrrh, sweet smelling cinnamon, sweet smelling cane, cassio and olive oil. The chosen men of God like priests were consecrated and kings were anointed only with me. 

When men of God who are of one heart and one soul gather with one accord to serve God, they are anointed and filled with the Holy Spirit according to the word of God. Do you know why I am Holy, precious and special? I am prepared adding each spice of good quality in proper pro-portion and compounded according to the composition and the art of the perfumer. So, I am having sweet smelling aroma. But what makes me sad is just one dead fly is enough to putrefy the entire perfumers’ ointment. 

Dear sisters and brothers, how is your nature and savior in your family, society and church? Do you diffuse the sweet-smelling aroma of the anointing oil by your self-denial, humility and togetherness? Or do you act as the dead fly that putrefies the aroma of the anointing oil? When you are in groups it may be difficult to adjust and accommodate yourself. That is because of your carnal nature especially pride. But with God’s strength if you break the pride with the word of God which is like a hammer and with the help of the Holy Spirit, we can be transformed to scatter the sweet fragrance of Christ to the society.
