Daily Devotion (English) – 23.03.2022

God is great 

“…He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” – 1John 4:4 

A little lad was travelling by air with his grandfather. As it was a long-haul flight, he got bored. He took out a book from his bag and began to read it. A professor of the Theological College was seated next to the lad. He looked at him and found him reading the Bible. On seeing the lad reading the Bible, he was glad. He wanted to spend some time with him. He said to the lad, “Little lad, I shall give you an apple, if you can quote a great work accomplished by God.”  The boy closed the Bible and thought for a while. Then he raised a question to him. He said, “Sir, is there any great work that God cannot accomplish? If you can tell it, I can ask my grandfather and get you a box of apples.” 

We worship the Almighty God. “For He spoke and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.” Our savior is the one who created the huge world. He is the one who divided the waters of the red sea. He is the one who stopped the flowing waters of Jordan and piled it up in heap. He rebuked the wind and sea and calmed the storm. The lepers were made clean. The deaf were able to hear; the dumb were able to speak; the lame walked and blind received sight. The dead were brought back to life. God asks us, “I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for me?” 

Beloved, we may be expecting and waiting for a miracle to happen in our lives. Our life may be full of struggle? We might have grown weary of facing problems? We may be in debt or in trouble with our children. But we need not worry about anything. Our God is so great, so strong and mighty to change the situation and deliver us from all our problems. We must share our burden with Him and trust Him 100% with all our heart. Our sorrows and grief will turn to joy. Amen.
