God of Elijah
“I will lift up my eyes to the hills-from whence comes my help?” – Psalms 121:1
Ahab the king of Israel's ways was evil in the eyes of God. He angered God by building a temple for Baal in Samaria. God told Elijah to warned Ahab about the famine that is about to come on Israel and hide near the Cherith river.
Imagine the situation of Elijah who was hiding near the river. It was isolated, there is nothing other than water was there to drink, no bed or blanket to sleep comfortably. He can’t eat when he is hungry. He has to wait for the crow to arrive with food. The crow was doing its job truthfully, whether it had food or not, it brought bread and meat for Elijah. How wonderful is our God who fed Elijah where none can go.
Are you in an abandoned or frustrated situation? Worried about how you are going to raise your children? How am I gonna feed my family this month? Who is gonna help my kids to get married? Worried about your sickness? and so on. Don't expect anything from your friends, family, relatives or neighbor but turn to God. Don't expect any help from others during hardships; crow didn't feed Elijah, God who sent crows to feed Elijah.
My dear! Whom are we searching nowadays? Either crows or the God, who sent crows to help Elijah. No crows can come to our aid without the command of God. So let us turn to God from whom our help arrives. When my husband was suffering from brain cancer, there was no help, but God sent few people to help like He sent crow for Elijah. The God who fed Elijah, pulled me out of my hard times will guide you.
