Daily Devotion (English) – 14.08.2022

 

Jenny’s faith

 

“…whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.” – Matthew 21:22

 

Jeny was having a sound sleep since it was a holiday. You will sleep during days on holidays won't you? Oh you can't sleep! Okay okay... Her dad woke her up saying “Today is the second day on gospel convention, get up let us go ". It was a hot summer day. The village was on drought. Jeny remembered the preacher said yesterday “Tomorrow will be a special fasting prayer for God to give us rain" so she took an umbrella with her. 

 

Jeny also fasted along with everyone. Her parents were happy to see her faith. They all went as a family. Jenny’s dad saw the umbrella and asked her "Why take an umbrella? It is evening now". She said "Dad we are going to pray for the rain and Jesus will give us rain, so we will need an umbrella to get home without getting wet" in her innocent voice, her parents were speechless. Her father thought she shouldn't be discouraged. 

 

The meeting started, preacher prayed for rain and started preaching. Soon there was some thunder and lightning. Jenny looked at her dad it was as if she said “See Jesus has answered our prayers". Father looked around and saw dark clouds in the sky. When the Preacher finished the meeting with Amen, rain drops started falling. Everyone started running to find shelter. Jeny kept her Bible and song book in a polythene bag and opened her umbrella. Her parents also brought umbrella on seeing her faith. They praised God as a family and came home. 

 

So, kids! Jenny kept her faith on God and it didn't go in vain. So whenever you pray believe that God will do that for you and it will be done for you. You will witness unbelievable miracles. God bless you!
