Daily Devotion (English) – 15.08.2022 (Youth Special)

 

Safe freedom 

 

“Do this now, my son, and deliver thyself, when thou art come into the hands of thy friend; go, humble thyself, and make sure they friend” - Proverbs 6:3

 

Veni's father built a new house. Veni will accompany her father at times when he visits his new home. She will be watching Rani their new neighbor, with awe because she will be social with everyone. They became friends as soon as they shifted to the new house. Veni's behavior changed. She started going out with Rani, going to shop getting ice-cream and so on. One day Veni was selected in a competition, and she has to go to nearby school to participate in that competition. Veni's father told her that he will drop her in that school. But Veni was stubborn to go with Rani. On their way they met with an accident and died. 

 

In the Bible, Dinah went to visit the women of that place. Shechem an youngster from that place violated her. Her brothers destroyed the entire city. That city was destroyed for the mistake of a single woman. We can see such events take place even now. We can see young girls getting into troubles when they go with friends or alone. Lot of them have destroyed their lives. Among them, those that hates their parent's advice, and their safety are majority. Not only girls are to blame here, but we should also teach young boys how to treat their female friends. If Shechem was taught all these may be this incident might have not happened, instead his father agreed with him and that became the reason for the destruction. 

 

My dear sister, despite whatever we say, our society is not ready for such a change. So, it is wise to protect ourselves. We push ourselves into danger when we avoid parent's advice. We even think, making our own rules is freedom. "Freedom with restrictions is safe freedom". So, in this tricking world to safeguard us, we can get protection from heavenly angels and live a holy life if we listen to our parent's advice, obey them and seek their advice. Hallelujah!
