Sexual violence
“…Dinah the daughter of Leah, whom she had borne to Jacob, went out to see the daughters of the Land.” - Genesis 34:1
We can read an unlikable incident happened in the life of God fearing man Jacob. Dinah was the only daughter of Jacob. We can read that she was sexually assaulted in Shechem, where she went to visit the women of that land. This type of assault against women is happening for ages. In India 88 sexual cases are recorded every day. On an average of over 20000 cases related to sexual abuse are recorded in India.
In 2012, a young woman was raped in a running bus in Delhi. Those rapists did some horrible things to that woman. Everyone was thinking "Why did she come out at night with her boyfriend?" Did she invite this sexual assault? Is a question echoed throughout our nation? The thought of going out for a walk, questions the safety of women. There is no denial that women are living in an insecure world.
My dear! God is our protector. That is in His territory He had drawn, there is security for sure. This young generation is being destroyed by the traps of Satan in the form of mobile phones. God has given the sense to identify both safe and unsafe places for an individual to go. So let us live wisely. If we ignore this, it will bring unwanted sadness. Let us pray for this kind of problems to cease in our country.
