Good teacher in Christ

 

“I will feed my flock, and I will cause them to lie down, saith the Lord God” - Ezekiel 34:15

 

Nowadays it is hard to get the good teacher award in this world. It is even more challenging for a teacher with a good witnessing life and a good name to ready the next generation in Christ. The last 12 years as a teacher, principal and a director has taught me lot of lessons. It is amazing to look back and see the guidance of God. And it is inducing to do more for God. Let me share my experience according to God's call. 

 

What we have is God's herd: 

According to 1 Peter 5:2 we should learn to treat our students or coworkers as a herd of God. By doing so we will have a burden for them, know their needs, and their mental state and approach them accordingly. 

 

Reflect good qualities of a good shepherd:

1 Peter 5:2-4 we should never use our students or coworkers on the orders of our superiors or to show our power or pride or to gain these worldly pleasures (money, lust or self-gain). Instead, we should lead and supervise them by being a good example. Never try to show the authority. We should march proudly as our actions will be rewarded once the highest shepherd arrives.

 

Anointment to show individual care for the weak: 

We need the special knowledge of the holy spirit for this. According to Ezekiel 34:4 we should strengthen the weak. We should heal the sick and tend to the broken, shelter the castaways and lost. If we do this with justice and without partiality as the Bible says, we can be a good teacher in Christ! For this Bible reading and prayer are the foundation.
