Listen to your calling, O Jerusalem!

 

“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty” - Psalms 91:1

 

John Bunyan in his the pilgrims progress, took the children of Christian somewhere and ask them to observe what is going on. They saw a hen foraging for food with its chicks. While drinking from the bowl, a chick raised its head towards the sky and thanked God, he asked whether the say that? They were amazed to see all the creations were praising God and they too praised God. They found 4 types of calling from a hen. 

 

1. A common call when there is not enough light.

 

2. A special call on spotting food. 

 

3. A warning calls when there is an enemy. 

 

4. A whispering call for protection

 

The interpreter explained the meaning of the 4 types of calls. God told the people who are in darkness "Fear not for I am with you; is not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." (Isaiah 41:10). To the seekers of livelihood to the heaven God says" Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you." (Mathew 7:7). In James 4:7 God consoles us by warning “resist the devil". He also says “Under His wings you shall take refugee" in Psalms 91:4. 

 

Yes my dear, like a hen gathers its chicks, our heavenly Father calls us many times to gather us. Let us not ignore or give excuses and hurry under His wings to find salvation.
