With whom are we wrestling?

 

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places” - Ephesians 6:12

 

In recent days what we hear on news are Protests, riots violence and injustice. People are protesting when there are any social injustices in the society. We as Christians have spiritual struggles. So, should we face our fellow humans in the battlefield? No, no we should face against the powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Let us listen to how we can face the struggles against these spirits. God has created a way for us. we can see that in Ephesians 6:11. We have to wear the armor of God if we need the strength to face the trickery of the devil.

 

So, what are these armor of God? They are the Belt of Truth, the Breastplate of Righteousness, the Gospel of Peace, the Shield of Faith, the Helmet of Salvation, and the Sword of the Spirit. God expects us to wear this armor of God and be victorious over the spiritual warfare. God called us for that. We have struggles with lot of spirits. Like Jesus Christ defeated with the Bible verse, we should cast away Satan with the bible verse, the sword of the spirit. 

 

Joseph thought "How can I sin against God" fled from the wife of Potiphar who was possessed by the spirit of adultery and won against the sin. Both Ananias and Sapphira died as they had greed inside them and failed the spiritual warfare and they both died. These are given as a warning for us. 

 

Let us observe about the spirits we are going against before facing them. Let us win against these spirits and inherit the Heaven.
