A meaningful Christmas in forgetting
“To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.” - 2 Corinthians 5:19
It was during Russian communists tortured Christians, a woman named Haritenboom was imprisoned and tortured. Then she was released after a long time and started preaching Christ. One day she was shocked to see a man sitting in the front row while she was preaching. Because he was the prison officer who tortured her in prison and killed her sister. After the meeting, she was shaking hands with those who attended the meeting, he came up to her and stretched his hand to shake her hands but she couldn't stretch her hands. Sadness blocked her throat. she prayed "Jesus fill my heart with your spirit of love" and she shook his hand.
In the Bible, we can read about Joseph who forgave and forgot his brother's betrayal. While naming his first son he said "…Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh: For God, said he, hath made me forget all my toil, and all my father's house.” (Genesis 41:51). Yeah, true blessing and happiness is when you forgive and forget. In the parable Jesus tells about the prodigy son and his father accepts him back. He forgave his rude words, disobedience and love his again.
My dear child of God! In this Christmas season do we have our Heavenly Father's heart? In our lives may be some incidents appeared to be hurting us or unjust to us, according to Mark 11:25 as our Heavenly Father have said "And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses" are we forgetting the trespassing of others, building relationship with the Father and making our lives happy? Are we praying for those hurting us? If we do that, the love of Jesus will be poured in our hearts , we will forget all the hatred and we can celebrate everyday with the same happiness as we have during this festive season.
