All things have become new

 

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” - 2 Corinthians 5:17

 

A new yeah has come. We seek new promises and new blessings. Did promises given last year fulfilled? Did we follow the commandments to receive the promises given last year? Let us think for few minutes before entering into the New Year.

 

When we move to a new house, we won’t carry unwanted things, unused things, unusable dresses and clothes with us. Instead we carry new sofa, new fridge, new table, and new chairs with us. In the same way before coming to Christ we will have unwanted thoughts like prideful thoughts, dirty imaginations, hatred, egoistic behavior and slavery all these thoughts will be stagnant like garbage cast away all these and carry with us, new thought in Christ, new love, new happiness, new peace, longsuffering. Philippians 2:2 says “Having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind." If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.

 

We can see eagle as an example for this. Eagle being a strong bird, it will shed its feathers; break its beaks and talons by injuring itself against a rock. In a few years it will re-grow its feathers, beaks and talons and gain new appearance. It will renew itself like this.

 

My dear! If we cast away our old sinful thoughts, Christ will renew ourselves and lift us up. We can be a new creation if we have true repentance and changes. If we come to the Lord by repenting for our sins and mistakes, He will wash us by his blood and renew us. By reading this, you renew yourself, change to a new creation and receive the blessing from God. Be a blessing for others. Amen!
