Don't be crippled

 

“...Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them” - 1 Samuel 30:8

 

Alexander Duff a Scottish born started his journey to India to share the gospel. He lost his belongings and certificates in a ship wreck. People said, the Lord doesn't want you to be a missionary and that's why such troubles happened to you. But he proceeded anyway without getting tired. He started his ministry among the high caste people, he wanted to teach western arts, science, English and Bible and started to do so. But representatives in Indian institutions opposed him. But he started a school with 5 students under a Banyan tree. 300 students joined him in a week. Then he started a school for high caste women. A lot of them learnt willingly in that school. 3 people accepted Jesus in 3 years. 800 people studied in his school. In a few months 33 people accepted Jesus. They became missionaries and leaders in church. 

 

Duff worked amidst his loss and expectations without falling back. The result is that the darkness of ignorance moved away, they saw the Lord. English education came to India. 

 

In the Bible, David and his followers lost their wives, children and belongings. They all cried till they had no strength left. But David strengthened himself in the Lord and prayed. The Lord says " pursue, don't be crippled, follow them and recover all without fail." Though a little crowd followed David, God made them recover everything. 

 

Yea, only our consoling God can fill the emptiness from loss. We can continue our race successfully only if He fills it. Don't fall back from your goals, and what you are doing due to opposition and struggles. All your focus should be on achieving your goals. Your view shouldn't fall on the opposition and struggles. Your success is in your arms reach. Push forward without getting tired.
