Strong faith

 

“...without faith it is impossible to please Him” - Hebrews 11:6

 

Hebrews youngsters Shadrach, Mesach and Abed-Nego roared in faith in front of Nebuchadnezzar. They said "Our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king. But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up." Their faith was pleasing to God so He roamed inside the furnace as the fourth person with them. Faithless life is lifeless. 

 

Look at the witness of Blandina. She was a weak slave. But strong in her heart. She was tortured and murdered in the Colosseum. She was forced to worship statues from morning till evening. She wasn't hesitant to declare her faith in Christ. She said " we are the servants of Christ". They tied her on a wooden pillar inside the Colosseum and released wild beasts. She was tied to a pole, knelt down and prayed. Animals smelled her but did nothing. She was then carried to prison. She was again brought to the Colosseum during the end of the festival. They beat her with sticks and made her sit on an extremely hot steel chair. She was then put in a net made from threads and made the bulls to poke her with its horns and throw her here and there. In the end she was killed with a sword, and was taken to heaven. 

 

My dear! How is your faith? Is it strong like a house built on a stone? Or is it unreliable like the house built on sand? Think. Let the Holy Spirit strengthen you so that your faith be desired by God. God bless you.
