God's longing

 

“Wow is me if I do not preach the gospel” – 1 Corinthians 9:16

 

A person who worked in a Bible school did her ministry in Karnataka. One evening she did tracts ministry with an old woman from her church and returning home. God induced her to go to a certain home and preach the gospel. She said "God let me share the gospel tomorrow because I am tired" and came home . Once again God induced her but she gave the same answer and came home to sleep. 

 

The next day she went to that house and saw it was completely quiet! The faces of those standing around the house were saddened. When she asked someone what happened, she learnt that the person hanged himself to death. She was heartbroken. She was very sad thinking, had I acted ignoring my tiredness I would have saved him. Her eyes were wet when she shared this in our Bible college. 

 

We can see from this incident the longing heart of our God and our heart that refuses to pay the price. Look at the kindness God has on each individual. He is not willing that any should perish. We might think, in these billions of people, will God see me for I'm in the farthest of corners? Will He listen to my prayers? But look at His heart. Like a mother asks her child when it doesn't eat, He asks the teacher again and again for that person. How great is His longing? 

 

My dear! Let us try to sacrifice little things for Christ in our life. Have we spoken about Jesus even once to the milkman, vegetable aunty, garbage collectors, launderers, house workers? It 100% sure that God is eager for their salvation. Will you accept His burden as yours and act accordingly? Will you come forward to pay any price for that?
