Who is spiritual?

 

“Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh” - Galatians 5:16

 

Among Christians there are different kinds of answers for the question, who is spiritual Christian. In few fellowships, those who sing cheerfully and scream hallelujah are considered as spiritual. Sometimes those who pray for long durations are considered spiritual. 

 

The above mentioned are also a sign for spiritual person, these are outward things so a person cant be spiritual based on this. There will be a few deep eagerness in a spiritual things. It will rule his entire life. Let us see those below. 

 

1. A spiritual person will prefer to be holy than happy. But Christianity nowadays seek ecstasy than holiness. 

 

2. A spiritual person prefers to carry the cross. Lot of Christians considers sufferings and sickness in their daily lives as cross. These are also happing to non Christians, so what is a cross? God mentions the additional sufferings comes from obeying the commands of Jesus. God never forces this cross on us but a spiritual person carries it on his own accord knowing the consequences.  

 

3. A spiritual man doesn't do good things to satisfy others but does it hole heartedly for the Lord. 

 

4. A spiritual Christian is happy when others are lifted up. He doesn't have jealousy in him, He is not frustrated when others are respected and he is left out. 

 

5. A spiritual man doesn't live so that the world will celebrate him, instead his life is useful to the Lord. 

 

The above mentioned are not something a spiritual person accomplished on his own but the Holy spirit does it in him.
