Results of the temptation

 

"Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.." - 1Peter 5:7

 

Peter writes the above exhortation as a witness of Christ's sufferings and as a partaker of the glory to be revealed. Job looked to God in his times of trial so that he would not blaspheme, he laid his burdens on him and boldly declared with faith, "My Redeemer lives..." (Job 19:25). The first thing Job faced was the loss of his children and property. The second is the agonizing and unbelieving words of his wife, who said “Blaspheme God and die." Third, he rededicated himself to God. "...in all these things Job did not sin with his lips." Social ostracism, from a status to nothing, none of these could damage Job's soul. Instead, he rededicated himself to God and waited patiently. As a result, in Job forty-second chapter, Job receives a double blessing, the privilege of seeing four generations of children and having a full life. We read about Job's patience in James 5:11.

 

Jesus, who was suffering and willing to fulfil the Father's will, humbled Himself to the point of death on the cross. He was willing to die for our sins, trespasses, and iniquities and took the punishment so that we can live in peace. Jesus was tempted by the devil; He was mocked, despised, and blashemy by the leaders of the synagogue, the chief priests, the Sadducees, the Pharisees, and the Jewish crowd. Knowing no sin, He gave Himself to endure the cross. As a result we are freed from our sins by His blood; By using his name we receive happiness, peace, health; Through His resurrection we are promised eternal life. Let us remain in Christ until we join God eternally. Maranatha! Jesus is coming soon.
