We are to be blamed!

 

"…Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel!." - 1 Cor 9:16

 

 Hitler who ruled Germany as a dictator is famous person. He was the one who was determined to kill the Jews and exterminate them so that not a single Jew would live. He captured the Jews and treated them very cruelly, put them in "concentration camps" called "cells", beat men and women, hang them upside down and finally killed them. Hitler had a Christian higher official named Andrew working very closely with him. He never told him about Jesus. He was too afraid to speak to Hitler.

 

In this situation, when many countries gathered and started to war against Germany, Hitler fled the country by plane and died. His friend, Andrew, retired after his service and went to his native village to spend his time. One evening he was sitting in a lounge chair reading the Bible. Then he heard the sound of Hitler's boots behind him. When he heard, he was shocked. The sound came very close to him. Then the figure disappeared crying, "Andrew, you've spoiled me. You never even told me about the Jesus you worshipped." That day, Andrew was deeply hurt for not talking about Jesus to Hitler.

 

During the days of the prophet Elisha, there was a great famine in the land of Israel. They were surrounded by the Syrian army so that people could not go out. As the famine was so severe, no one came forward to feed the 4 lepers who were outside the town, they decided to go to Syria's army. It was then that the situation there amazed them. Before they reached the Syrian army, they had already fled from their camp. Seeing this the lepers ate as much as needed and filled their stomach. They felt it is not fair to be silent but have to spread the good news to our people. Today is the day of evangelism. They said “If we remain silent, the guilt will be upon us” (2 Kings 7:9).

 

You and I must proclaim the good news to others that Jesus meets us, saves us, guides us and leads us and that He is the only living Saviour who came to save us. If we wait for the right time or convenient time to act, if we do not act, it might be too late and the blame will fall on us. Let's think! Let's act immediately!! Amen.
