Gorgeous Asha

 

"Surely he scorneth the scorners: But he giveth grace unto the lowly." - Proverbs 3:34

 

Asha was studying in class 12. She was outwardly beautiful; well off too. Although born in a Christian family, she lived as a nominal Christian. As Asha grew older, her beauty also increased. And the pride of being a princess was also growing. She often asks the other students who study with her, if she was prettier than everyone else. They will reply according to her mind. Because she gives them chocolates, pens, pencils etc. Asha does not like black people and poor people. If she sees them, she will speak scornfully. No matter how her parents adviced her, she never listens.

 

One day everyone in Asha's class went to the science lab class. While going there to investigate, Asha's test tube unexpectedly exploded. What a pity! The acid was on her face and her face was blistered all over. Asha screamed and thrashed. Immediate treatment was given. Then she was treated in hospital for a couple of days. Asha came home back and saw her face in the mirror. Asha looked miserable. She could not bear the pain. Then she went to school. They felt sorry for her on the first day, and then gradually withdrew from her. Even those who called her beautiful did not consider her. Asha was heartbroken. Asha then thought, "The poor students who heard the words she mocked must have suffered in the same way every day." Realizing her mistake, she began to pray to Jesus for forgiveness. From that day there was a change in her mind, and she started being a good child.
