Can you escape from death?

 

"Treasures of wickedness profit nothing, But righteousness delivers from death" - Proverbs. 10:2

 

Many years ago, there lived a most rich man named Rudscheld in Britain. He had amassed wealth beyond our imagination. He helped the administration of the British nation by giving money! One day he went into his treasury room where he kept a lot of jewels, precious stones and money. He was counting money, gold ornaments and valuables. The door of the treasury closed automatically. It cannot be opened from the inside. He struggled to open the door. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't open the door. He squealed. His voice was not heard and there was not enough air to breathe. What a pity! He died there.

 

Sometimes the possessions we accumulate in this world do not save us. Will those possessions carry us to eternity? No, for sure. The day of judgment is coming. A man's wealth on that day will not save him. The scriptures say, "O rich people! Hear and weep because of the compulsions that have come upon you. Your riches have perished and your clothes are torn."

 

In the Bible, we read about Gehazi. He desired after the worldly goods, the gifts brought by the Naaman. He loved worldly possessions more than God and His power. The result wad leprosy.

 

Beloved ones! Wealth is essential. But nothing comes with us when we die. God is able provide us all things, when he wills.
