Jesus with us

 

"...I am with you to protect you..." - Jeremiah 1:8

 

William, a foreigner, was crossing a railway line with his wife, Mary Tanner. Suddenly they saw a train coming in the distance, both of them quickly tried to cross the track. But unexpectedly, one of Mary Tanner's legs got caught in the railing. She nervously tried to pull the leg out. But could not. Realizing the situation, the husband also tried to save his wife. By then, the train was near. Mary Tanner yelled at her husband, "Get away!" But do you know what William said? "I'm going to stay with you." That was their last word! Those who saw this scene and those who heard this news were melted thinking of the love of that husband. A million times more than this is the love of our Supreme Bridegroom, Jesus the Saviour! Think how great is the love that gave life for us while we were still sinners.

 

The Lord was with Jacob even when he deceived his brother and his father. Even when he went to his uncle's house in fear of his brother, even when he lay alone with a stone on his head, he kept saying, "I am going to be with you." He said he will be with him till he returns to this place. Afterwards Jacob returns home with two companies from Laban. God was with Jacob even when Laban came with an army saying that his gods had been stolen. Even when Jacob went to face his brother in fear God was there. He was there in times of fear, horror, hard work and loss. Because the one who made the vow is unchangeable.

  

Beloved, God has made a promise to you. Behold, I am with you even to the end of the world! (Matthew 28:20) This God is unchanging. Jacob seemed to lose strength when he was afraid to meet his brother. So just as he cried out to the Lord alone and begged him, we are in a troubling situation we should report that and confess his promise word, "I am with you." We will feel God's strengthening. Hallelujah!!
