Don't get angry

 

"for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God" - James 1:20

 

A young man was getting angry often. When he gets angry, he yells. One day his father gave him a hammer and many nails. "From now on, when he gets angry, he told him to hammer a nail into the wall at the back of the house". First day 10 nails, next day 7, then 5, 2 nails gradually, the anger decreased. One day he drove only one nail. He said to his father, "I have hit 45 nails in total. I will not get angry anymore." Dad said to him, the day you are no longer angry, pull out one nail. He proudly called his father and showed him that the nails he had hammered had been pulled out in 45 days. Dad immediately said you have pulled out the nails. What do you do with holes in the wall? Isn't your anger hurting so many people? The young man bowed his head in shame.

 

Moses was the best leader chosen by God to lead the people of Israel. While Moses was leading the people to enter the land of Canaan, many problems and needs arose. Moses would wait for their needs in the presence of God and listen to God's advice and fulfil their needs. Similarly, one time when the people needed water, the Lord told Moses to speak to the rock before their eyes, and it would give the water that was in it. But instead of speaking in anger, Moses stretched out his hand and struck the rock twice with his staff. Moses' act of anger prevented him from entering Canaan.

 

Beloved, a new chapter in life is born when you stop hurting others. Let go of anger. None of us would be angry if we knew that anger can pierce and tear, scar the hearts of others. Nothing we say or do in anger will bear any fruit. So let us seek the help of the Spirit to let go of anger and commit ourselves to His hands.
