Confused? OR excited?

 

"…When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy" - Matthew 2:10

 

John and Peter are students of the same department of same college. But there is a difference in the way both learn their lessons. John would study the lessons regularly and try to understand them. But Peter always plan to study at the last-minute for the exam. The exam schedule was suddenly changed due to some unavoidable reasons when there was a gap of one month for their semester exam. It was shifted to only a week ago. For John, the excitement of getting good grades, but for Peter, who has never read anything, the worry of being unable to read such a huge book in a week!

 

Similarly, the birth of Jesus was announced by the wise men during the Herod period. (Matthew 2:3) When King Herod heard this, he and all the people of Jerusalem were troubled. His confusion made him act against God's plan. He didn't want to see Jesus born as King of the Jews. Instead he planned to kill him.

 

But it gave joy to the wise men who predicted the birth of Christ by the stars. It guided to see him immediately. It led them straight to God. Missing that star, they sought the help of men and lost, but did not give up. The same star appeared to them again and it started moving. It went to the place where the child was. They were overjoyed.

 

Beloved! The Second Coming of Christ continues to be announced to us. If we know that Christ is going to come as a judge to judge us and we are sumerged in worldly affairs without making any effort independently, His arrival will cause a disturbance in our minds! Having accepted Christ as our Savior, how are we going to decide to meet him with confusion or rejoicing?
