A meaningful Christmas

 

"And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying" - Luke 2:13

 

Rani had decorated the cottage in her house with a Christmas tree and the car park at their house. The passers-by and those near the house would stop and look at it, and when Rani saw it, she would immediately open the gate and invite them in, and share the love of Jesus then give them sweets. Likewise, she would lead them into the Lord through out the whole year to baptize two people every Christmas and bring them to the church. Seeing all this, her friend Dharani looked at her with surprise, and immediately the Rani was delighted about Christ birth and heavenly host announced the news to the world. She said that this is a small effort to enjoy heaven as Jesus is born in many hearts today.

 

The heavenly host rejoiced to announce the news of Jesus Christ born in a cowshed as a form of humility during the first coming of Jesus Christ! The joy of the host overtook the shepherds. They went to Bethlehem and saw and preached and rejoiced. Everyone who heard was surprised. And many would have gone and seen. Similarly the star guided the wise men who bowed down without considering knowledge, status and pride.

 

Have we sat with the lamp we received in our church? Or have we turned it off? Let's think! For those who do not yet know Christ are around me in places of destination. Heaven will not rejoice if I alone celebrate Christmas. If there is only celebration, happiness will disappear with it. Then sorrow and suffering will follow. There will be no heavenly happiness.

 

Beloved, let us shine the light of Christ to the people who live in the darkness of sin and curse. Let us light the lamp of heavenly joy and rejoice according to the verse of Isaiah 9:2 that the people walking in darkness have seen a great light. This is Christmas with meaning. Let's celebrate this Christmas with meaning and joy.
