Unintelligible riddles
"Before I was afflicted I went astray, But now I keep Your word" - Psalm 119:67
A bear has wandered out of the forest and entered a nearby town. The people who saw it tried to drive it away into the forest. But the bear was running around in fear. Instead of killing it, the villagers decided to send it into the forest. For that they put a trap used by the hunter. When the bear came close to eat the food, it got stuck in it. Then they tried to tie it with a rope and release it into the forest. But the bear kept growling menacingly at those who came near. Then they shot a gun loaded with anesthetic to make it unconscious. They freed him from the snare on his leg. Due to this, the bear was slightly injured. Then they tied it and left safely into the forest and untied it. After a few hours, the bear got out of the trance and went into the forest.
Let's imagine what the bear would have thought through this show. When he first entered the town, he was chased away into the forest by the people, and he must have thought that humans were something bad. The humans were going to kill him when he sedated it with a gun. But we know that all this thinking of the bear is wrong. Perhaps this misconception came to the bear because he could not understand what people think and do.
We also sometimes go into wrong thoughts when God sends some suffering in our life for our good. Suffering and crosses are essential in the life of a Christian. But we should not get the wrong idea that God finds some happiness by making us suffer. The full meaning of suffering cannot be fully understood while we live in this sinful body. Just like the bear in the above incident is unable to understand that "everything people do is for its own good", we may also be unable to understand all the problems that come in our lives. But we will get a clear answer to all these after we go to heaven. More than that, when we see face to face the face of Jesus Christ who suffered and died on the cross for us, our heart will be full so that these questions do not arise in our heart.
