Where is my treasure?

 

"Fool!.. then whose will those things be which you have provided?" - Luke 12:21

 

A person moved from home country to foreign for work. He was contracted to stay and work there for a certain year only. Accordingly, he also stayed there and worked well. He kept only what he needed to live on from the income and deposited the rest into his bank account in his home country. We all understand that he realized that this is not his own country, that there is no use for him to keep his savings here, and that he cannot live here after the time given to him is over.

 

Similarly, earth is not permanent for anyone. It is necessary that all of us to have the understand that our soul will be taken from here to an eternal place called heaven or hell. But many of us forget this and keep many things here for ourselves, thinking that we will be here forever.

 

There was a rich man in the Bible who kept this for himself. For many years he has stored up for him towards his soul. He said that you should rest, eat, drink and be merry. But God asked him, fool, if your soul will be taken from you this night, and to whom will this which you gathered belong?. If God asks us the same question today!

 

We can see so many poor people in this world. He who has compassion on the poor lends to the Lord. And Jesus Christ has said that whatever you did for the least of these, your brothers who are hungry, thirsty, stranger, naked, sick, and imprisoned, you did it for me.

 

God has given us many such opportunities so that we can store up treasures in heaven. Are we using the opportunity that God has given us? No one knows when we will leave this earth except our God.
