The responsibility is on you

 

"…And they cast their lots, and the lot fell on Matthias. And he was numbered with the eleven apostles…" - Acts. 1:26

 

McGrath was born in a small village at Australia to poor farming parents. He suffered a lot due to poverty in his childhood. He was interested in cricket and somehow tried to join his country's cricket team. But nothing worked out. Only then did he get a chance to play for a local team in a local cricket match. He used this opportunity to show his bowling skills and helped the team win. Later, he was included in the list of Australian cricketers and showed his bowling skills and led his team to victory in many important matches. His contribution to Australia's three consecutive World Cup wins is significant.

 

In Acts 1 the disciples are trying to make a decision. It is that Judas lost his purpose and his place. So someone else should be appointed in his place. For this they pray and cast lots. The lot fell on a man named Matthias. Then we see that Matthias was included with the eleven apostles. Matthias had a share in all that the apostles did in later days. He also has a place in the history of the apostles.

 

Friends, we have seen a player who took the opportunity to play in a local tournament and a man whwas included among the disciples. How are you doing today? In some background, in some period, through some person, the gospel came to you. There are millions of people in our country who do not know that gospel. Don't forget that the responsibility to tell that gospel is in your name, on you. Every Christian should say and act, "The lot has fallen in my name today, I am a twelfth disciple." Realizing this responsibility, let's go out today and tell people about the love of Jesus! Let us fulfil our responsibility and glorify God's name!
