"…He left a pattern for you to follow in His footsteps" - 1 Peter 2:21

 

Each of us is a follower of someone. In childhood we see our mother and father and start living like them. Then when we see teachers and people we admire, and we start imitating them. We start imitating cricketers or movie heroes in our teenage years. Growing up, we start following our favorite politicians and leaders as our role models. Jesus is the only one who lived a better example than everyone else! The Lord Jesus Christ has lived and done many things that are necessary examples for our lives during the days he lived on earth. Let us consider some of them.

 

Love: He was exemplary in showing love. He showed great love for his disciples. Jesus called his disciples friends. He showed his love by giving his life for mankind.

 

Humility: The Lord Jesus Christ humbled Himself by being obedient till his death on the cross. (Philippians 2:6-8) Jesus washed the feet of his disciples as an expression of his humility. What a humbleness! His humility continued till death. Let us also live with true humility.

 

Holy Life: The Lord Jesus lived a holy and sinless life during his days on earth. He has left an example by living a holy life. I am holy, you too should live holy. Let's practice the holy life of Jesus daily. We cannot see God without holiness.

 

Forgiveness: Forgiving others is very important. In the prayer that Jesus taught, he taught us to pray that our trespasses be forgiven as we forgive the trespasses of others. Let us forgive others as Jesus has forgiven and accepted us.

 

Children of God who are reading this, let us show that Jesus is the best guide in our lives by living like him. May we walk in the way he showed us and follow in his footsteps and be blessed. Let's Rule. Amen!
