An stony heart

 

"They do not know nor understand; For He has shut their eyes, so that they cannot see, And their hearts, so that they cannot understand…" - Isaiah 44:18

 

Two friends were standing outside their house talking about evening work. Suddenly, a lot of smoke was seen coming from a high-rise in the distance. Immediately they rushed towards the direction of the smoke without any delay. The roof of the storied house was on fire. They broke open the door and entered. The rooms were beautifully decorated with expensive carpets. Is anyone inside? Calling that, they went from room to room. No answer. Only one room yet to be seen. The entire family was sitting in front of the television set watching the program without blinking, not knowing what was happening outside when the door was pushed open. They cut off the TV set and yelled, "Hurry up, get out, your house is on fire." Everyone hurriedly took out the important items. Then the fire brigade arrived. The fire was extinguished. When the house caught fire or the door was broken, they were watching TV without noticing any sound of human footsteps. The family was shy to see the villagers.

 

As the children of Israel travelled and encamped in the plains of Moab, Balak, the king of Moab, hired Balaam to curse the people of Israel and bring them back. Balak, with an obedient heart, prepared to go with them. Saddled on a donkey, he goes with an unfeeling heart, not even seeing the angel who stood in opposition to him. But when Balaam's donkey went astray, the Lord opened the donkey's mouth. He beat the donkey three times, but don't think why this is happening.

 

Dear people reading this! Many people live like this today. What are we doing? What is happening around us? There is no sense or no thinking about anything. They keep doing what they are doing. What bothers to me if it happens anywhere? No matter how much danger is around, if this moment is good enough. If you live without worrying about anything, the consciousness of the heart will gradually decrease and then the conscience will be dead and dried up. Let's be careful.
